If the record-setting temperatures this week didn’t clue you in enough, summer has come with a vengeance! It seems we skipped over spring to get here, but Metro Milwaukee’s greatest season is finally upon us. And of course, with the coming of summer means it’s festival season!
This weekend sees the first major festival of the season at Henry Maier Festival Park (aka Summerfest Grounds), as well as a celebration of our beautiful lakefront and one of the most eclectic street fests of the summer. Sit back and enjoy our first Weekend Festival Preview of the year!
PrideFest may first and foremost celebrate the LGBT community, but it’s really about acceptance to all groups. The always-entertaining festival attracts thousands each year, both gay and straight, and has a lineup of big-name stars performing throughout the weekend. Slated this year are Oscar-winning comedienne Monique, ‘90s rappers Salt-N-Peppa and country star LeAnne Rimes. The festival is also hosting on-site commitment ceremonies for all who are interested.
