Milwaukee’s Holiday Lights Festival Kick Off

Every year it seems like we begin celebrating the holidays earlier and earlier. Christmas and Hanukkah decorations pop up in stores often times before Halloween, and Christmas music hits the airwaves before Thanksgiving. If you’re one to fully embrace the holiday season no matter how early, tonight is the perfect time to jump start your holiday cheer at the Milwaukee Holiday Lights Festival Kick-Off at Downtown Milwaukee’s Pere Marquette Park.

Tonight, Milwaukee switches the flip, illuminating Pere Marquette Park in over 500,000 lights, 360 wreaths, 35 animated sculptures and 17 Moravian stars. What’s more, leading into this evening, you can take in the holiday variety show, a special showcase of holiday fireworks and, of course, a special visit from Santa Claus, himself. Stay toasty with free hot cocoa, coffee and cookies. If tonight doesn’t get you in the holiday spirit, nothing will!

The pre-show will begin at 5:45pm, with the switch-flipping and fireworks kicking off at 6:30pm.
