Festival season is really picking up in Metro Milwaukee! The city is alive this weekend with a handful of diverse, can’t-miss events. How could you possibly choose? We’ll highlight a few in this week’s festival guide:
POLISH FEST – Milwaukee, Friday-Sunday
Touted as “America’s largest Polish Festival,” this three-day event kicks off Friday at Henry Maier Festival Park. The festival, always a good time, is filled with folk dancing, a cultural village, folk art demos, Polish rock bands, the Chopin Youth Piano competition, an extensive marketplace and, of course, plenty of polka and loads of Polish food. Polskis and Polski-lovers alike, come on out!

How Much?: $12 for adults and $10 for seniors at the gate and free for kids 15 and younger.

PrideFest may first and foremost celebrate the LGBT community, but it’s really about acceptance to all groups. The always-entertaining festival attracts thousands each year, both gay and straight, and has a lineup of big-name stars performing throughout the weekend. Slated this year are Oscar-winning comedienne Monique, ‘90s rappers Salt-N-Peppa and country star LeAnne Rimes. The festival is also hosting on-site commitment ceremonies for all who are interested. It’s Bike to Work Week in Milwaukee – Trade in four wheels for two this week to help the environment and your health! Sponsored by the Bicycle Federation of Wisconsin, you can score free coffee, baked goods and a minor bike repair at three stations around the city if you’re biking to work this week. There are also plenty of other fun bike-commuting activities planned for the entire week – Click here and see how you can participate.
