More than just real estate

Making Snow Cones from Snow Storms

Selling a home in winter can definitely be a struggle – especially in today’s market, but one Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage agent took “overcoming obstacles” to heart! Southeast Wisconsin has been pounded with snow this winter – and while the snowfall has been spectacularly beautiful, it becomes messy and unwieldy when showings occur. Coldwell Banker’s North Shore agent BG Hook masterminded a fabulous way to attract people to her beautiful condo listing on Lake Drive across from Lake Park. It brings a smile to the faces of all who look and shows that, even though we all struggle getting through the winter, it can also be such a fun time of year. Kudos to BG for a job well done!

Positive news for the Wisconsin housing market

According to a recent report by the Wisconsin REALTORS Association, home sales in the state have jumped significantly in January, compared to sales in the same month last year. Home sales were up 16.2 percent in January 2011, while it was also the second straight month in which home sales increased. What’s more, this sales jump came without the aid of a homebuyer tax credit, which was in place at this time last year. This is positive news for the state’s housing market, hinting to the fact that Wisconsin’s market may be turning a corner.
